Would anyone be nice enough to grade my essay and give me some advice?

Assignment: Is a single leader necessary for a group of people to function effectively?

A snake without a head is just a harmless animal that could be threaten at any time. So are people, a group without a leader is just no more than a mess.

Nelson Mandela, a single man who challenged and eliminated all discriminations and segregation. He is wall-known as the leader of African Americans, who granted them freedom and equal rights. Eventhough, Nelson Mandela was just a normal man, his leadership could uniform people and promote their enthusiasm, which helped them to win in the battle of segregation.

I was a leader myself, in a group of 3. In a school project, we were in a group of 3. We randomly chose a leader and it was me. I was in charged of making final decisions for the project. I was so useless but I couldm't think of any ideas, but they did. All I had to do was to choose whose was better. I would have been a useless member for the group, however, as a leader, I actually did help. I virtually didn't do anything good for the project, but I shaped and uniformed the group which could benefit the project.

A single leader is absolutely necessary for a group of people to function effectively.

I spotted many grammatical errors while typing but I kept them just so I can see how bad my writing actually is.
I actually timed myself so I couldn't finish the conclusion.
Last time I got a 7 on an actual SAT, and I am aiming for a 9-10, any advice would be highly appreciated.
