I'm most likely going to be a freshman chemE major at UCSD next fall. My original plan was to major in biomedE, but of course it's an impacted major (too many people). I only recently discovered that chemE has very little to do with bioE, and I was trying to think of different pathways to study bioE in graduate school in case I am unable to switch into an impacted major. (All majors in biology department at UCSD are impacted). Biochem/Chem seems to be the best solution so far.

I also want to consider medical school as a possibility, and from what I heard, chemE + premed = more than 5 years to graduate.

What's the best pathway for me if I want to consider both bioE master's and medical school?
