I just purchased mike barret's sat book. What kind of score increase can i expect. i am very good at grammar and math even though my scores are not reflective of it. i don't know how i did this bad on math. i mean ive done the aime test and got a 2 on it even though it isnt many but many don't even get to the aime.
620 CR missed 15
680 M missed 7 or 8
710 WR missed 5
10 on essay
What kind of score increase could i expect. my weakest part is definitely cr becuase i read to much into it and think there are two possible answers. your feedback would be appreciated.

There's really no "expected" score, because everyone uses the book differently. You may think you "own" the writing section, so you'll only study CR & M tips, thus highering your score in CR & M, and lowering it in WR. Although some people have increased by 100s of points with Grammatix, there's no guarantee. You need to learn to use the book to the best of your ability. The score increase you can expect is whatever goal you set for yourself. Since you're at a 2010 right now, your goal may be a 2300. With dedication and Grammatix, you can reach or surpass your goal. Good luck on your SATs!

critical reading will definitely go up, into the 700s for sure. grammatix is really strong there. i'm still working on other sections with grammatix, but as the previous post said, hard work and dedication will raise your score too. keep taking those practice tests.

I have a question...how good is the grammatix book for the ACT..i'm not sure which one i want to buy!!!

I have never tried it, but I wonder the same thing. It is from LazyStudentsWay.com

Will lazystudents way..act book be recent enough to include the new writing section on the act? Man i really dont know which book to buy..and the act deadline is next week and the sat deadline is this week!

Hi guys,

I really don't want to start talking about my stuff again, so I won't--I just want to say that, to my knowledge, the ACT guide has not been updated. But you can look to LSW itself for a definite on that.

is it really legit my parents are really cheap should i beg them for this or does it only help like 1/50 and will it tell me nonsense tatics that are commonsense?

I dont think it has been updated. Just get the official one for practice tests. if u need strategies i would say try it.

dan, there's a huge thread that discusses grammatix, check it out if you want answers. mike barrett himself provided answers so that thread is the source.

That thread is about the SAT, he is talking about an ACT guide by LazyStudentsWay, the topic is mislabeled.

I have read all of the posts and have decided to order Grammatix. As per your instructions on the large Grammatix thread, I will purchase the regular version and request the hard cover book for free.

I will follow-up with fellow ccers on my feedback and results on the upcoming SAT.

Yeah I have grammatix, it is sweet, but i dont got the ACT book.

Received the free hard copy of Grammatix. Will provide feedback on the product shortly.

where can I buy a copy of grammatix?

I read over the book, and took the recent SAT. I can't say that the book really provided a lot of things I didn't know already, but just made them clearer in my mind. I myself was beginning to pick up on a lot of the trends in the test, and this book confirmed most of my ideas. If you haven't figured out a lot of these things, the book can be extremely useful.

It is completely legit, Mike does a great job, and I have to give him a lot of credit for that. I also agree with a lot of Mike's approach to the test, and for that reason, I think it gave me a little more confidence to hear that someone with a lot of knowledge had a lot of the same ideas that I have. So overall, I'd say go for it, its worth a shot.

yeah, it basically tells you some stuff that you probably know in your back of your head already. However, reading the guide just reminds you to watch out for it and remember to use it.
