Potential 2013 Yalies, did you guys get these in the mail yet? The ones from your admissions officer, I mean. I received mine today, and there was a note at the bottom about how he enjoyed reading my essay (one I thought was particularly weak) and how he thinks I'd be a good fit for EPE!

Yeah, I got one in the mail yesterday talking about my essay. It was pretty cool and it made the fact that I actually got in, sink in a little more.

There was also a note at the bottom of mine about my essay (which I thought was very weak)...I was sort of happy a first ("maybe it didn't suck as bad as I thought")...but now after reading you comment I'm beginning to think it was just a ploy to persuade me to commit to Yale. (compliments are a wonderfully deceptive tool).

Got mine today. Must be standard procedure to include a personal blurb at the end, complimenting you about something specific in your application.

Yes, they're obviously very keen on getting us all to matriculate.
So far, they're doing a pretty decent job. The more I think about it, the more I think I will actually end up going to YALE!

"Come to Yale!!!! (yes it literally had that many exclamation marks) It is the perfect fit for your academic and leadership talents! I had so much fun reading your application and I hope to see you here next fall!... P.S. Thanks again for the shoutout on the admit website!"

(If you guys go to the admit website under the Admissions Committee subforum you can see the forum I created thanking my admissions officer - Lindsay Hobbs).

Yeah, the note actually is persuading me; although, I don't need much persuasion.
