So I'm going back to school again and going to continue where I left off a few years ago. My biggest dream is to attend USC and get into their journalism program. Now, I will be attending Great Basin, but should I get all my basics out of the way and transfer or should I get my AA and attempt to get into USC? Is their a page on the USC page to where I can take the classes that USC requires from a CC?

What would it take for me to do to even be able to get accepted into USC? Advice would be greatly appreciated! Hopefully I made sense.

i cant tell you what kind of GPA you need to get accepted, but you will need to work hard. ive seen cases of GPA’s of 2.4’s getting accepted and cases of 4.0’s getting rejected. if you want to see past information about people who got accepted…
google “2009 usc transfer official decisions” and same with 2010. im not sure how many years this goes back, but feel free to check it out!

so work hard, focus, persevere, and get help when you need it. try to talk to a counselor at your CC too, they may have a bit more information.

lastly, i just want you to know that if you follow USC’s GE curriculum, it pretty much will put you out of the race for any UC’s/cal states. their GE’s are so different that it tends to screw a lot of people over if they get rejected :

I’ll call my school first thing tomorrow. Does USC take courses that were done over the internet? I will be having to take my first semester online due to my husband being in the Navy.
