great undergraduate physics programs for transfers

Does anyone know of any great undergraduate physics program that are still viable at the upper division level? I plan on transferring, but programs like UCSB’s CCS Physics major has most of its benefits at the lower division level. I also considered Cal, but the huge class sizes and student body appear to make the experience less inspiring. Is there anything else similar to UCSB CCS that benefits upper division students/transfers? I realize most of the high ranking undergrad physics programs (MIT, Harvard) don’t really accept many transfer students, if at all, so I have to rule those schools out. Any ideas? Transferring from a CCC. I’m a first generation college student so I don’t have many resources to help me at home (parents, word of mouth, ect.). Your help is very much appreciated!!

Things like small class sizes, undergraduate research, leading world research, faculty-student relations and availability, labs and facilities, quality of education and passionate students.

Upper division courses tend to be smaller anyway. You can check class schedules to find out the actual sizes.

By the time you reach the upper division as you transfer, you will be focusing on your physics courses forthemost part. You probably will have finsihed your general education requirements. If you are looking for that broadening experience, you can consider schools that have a genearl education requirement that involves project based learning in teams. For example, my university, Illinois Tech requires all students in their last two years to take two [InterpProfessional Projects](http://ipro.iit.edu/) courses. It is not the same as the CCS butit does offer the opportunity to develop skills other than in just physics.
