Does anyone know anything about greek life at UCSD? Though I’m not ditzy, blonde, or the stereotypical sorority girl should be, I won’t know anyone at UCSD this fall and am thinking of fun amusing ways to make new friends. I wouldn’t join ones reputably ***** like Kappa Kappa Gamma, but I heard Chi Omega is nice. Any current Tritons in a sorority? Does anyone know the pros or cons to it?

My advice for Greek life would be to wait until sophomore year. Rushing can be tough on your GPA, as it is time consuming. Get to know people in sororities (and definitely do not go in with any preconcieved notions about one or another - national and local reputations can be VERY different), and then rush sophomore year. Between observing on the outside and going through the rush process, you will know if it is something you will want to do. Some like greeks and greek life, some hate it. Most at UCSD are basically neutral on the whole thing.
