Grid In Rules

I've been asking a bunch of people about the rules for the Grid-ins on the SAT and I haven't gotten a general consensus. I understand the basic stuff, but I'm not sure whether I can bubble in improper fractions with decimals. This was the question that prompted the discussion:

What number when multiplied by .7 gives you 1?

The easy response is 1 / .7, which you can bubble in. Would that be marked as correct? I know that the safe response is just converting it to 10/7, but I want to know if the improper fraction would work. Any thoughts?

Improper fractions CANNOT be plugged. Moreover I personally think that “1/.7” is awkward (Don’t know if it works)
Anyways just plug"10/7" and you’ll be fine.

You actually can input improper fractions. An improper fraction is just a fraction where the numerator is greater than the denominator, so even 10/7 is an improper fraction. You can’t input mixed numbers, such as 1 and 3/7. I understand that I can just enter 10/7, but I’m asking if anybody knows whether 1/.7 would be correct as well. I’m tutoring some people, and I’d like to be able to give a definite answer.

No. It is definitely not correct.

I don’t feel like explaining it, so just take the ‘no’ at its face value.
