Where is the closest place to pick up a 1/2 gallon of milk? Also, how far is the Amtrak Station and the Bus service company that runs from Champaign to Woodfield, Oakbrook, etc. Train or bus back, what easier and more comfortable!! Thanks

There are a couple of convenience stores on Green Street a few blocks from campus, but for anything bigger you'll need to go to Meijer which requires a 45-minute bus ride or a 15-minute car ride. The Amtrak station is only accessible by car (or perhaps bus), so it's not very convenient. The bus that goes to the Chicago area malls is much better since it stops at all the dorms.

Thanks. That's really helpful information. I did not realize that the bus stop's at the residence halls. Do you know the name of the bus company so I can look up their fares and schedules? Thank you!

Yeah the convenience stores on green st. (Campustown), tend to be more expensive, though walgreens is sometimes reasonable. If you go west on green past 1st and the train tracks, which is not really a long walk you can find a Osco, which basically looks like any full Jewel-Osco in the chicago area.

Suburban Express is nice but they do have competition:
