Groups Scholars Program Questions

Hi!

So I’ve just gotten an application for the Groups program, and I’m in a bit of a dilemma. Next summer I was planning on working so I could take a trip before school starts and save money to have during freshman year in university. Now I’m considering enrolling in the Groups program, but due to the lack of available information, I can’t easily make a decision. So here are my questions:

  • Will I have to share a dorm room with anyone? How do room assignments work in general?
  • Will I be free to explore IU in my spare time? Or is this more of a stricter overnight camp where I won't be allowed to go off on my own?

Hey! I’m applying for Groups also and from what I understand you will have to share a room with someone but, there is a way for you to pick your roommate if you would like.
And also you can explore IU on your own time as long as you keep up with your classes.
This is what I was told from friends that did Groups previously. Good luck!
