GT Experience - ex: when do GTs get their cornell emails, acceptance letter, etc...?

GTs are required to fill out a college official's report??
Who should I give it to if my advisor left the school...
and my dean doesnt know...

Is the Midterm (for ILR GT) due on the 15th or 30th?

30th (I donno y I thought the 15th too! But i looked again a while ago and saw 30th. I guess u shold double check but I'm pretty sure it's the 30th).

My advisor doesn't know I'm a GT either. He's also my teacher so I never told him (teaching me both semesters). I'm just going to go tell him once vacations over.

Don't worry about it, it's not like what they write will stop u from becoming a GT. If ur advisor is new just smile a lot and act nice and ull be fine lol

So you recommend I give it to the advisor that took my advisors place?
He is only a freshman advisor though, and doesnt even know me... ive never seen him...

Ya, why not? It's just Bureaucratic nonsense pretty much lol. What ur advisor says about u won't really make a difference. You can always ask Ian if ur unsure. Just act really nice and ull get a good recommendation anyway.

If I recall correctly, sexy123 is a HE GT?...ILR doesn’t ask for a college official's report… its waived if you check your online account! But I don’t really think they care that much about it either way, you should be fine giving it to your new advisor! GL

who is Ian?

ILR transfer counselor!

This is probably stupid, but could someone briefly explain to me what a GT is? I know what I stands for but I don't really understand it.

im not in ILR

Since this is about GT experience lemme just post something that just happened to me. I was nervous about telling my advisor I am transfering because he has been my teacher twice and he's really nice and well...usually people transfer because they don't like the school so I didn't want him to think that.

Turns out when I told him he got really excited and gave me a high five since it's Cornell. I tried to act like kinda laid back about it and I was like "yaa...hopefully I'll like Ithaca. Although it's gonna be really cold." He laughed and went "Who cares if it's cold!? It's an Ivy League school!!!" lmao

I took the College Officials Report form to an advisor at my school to fill out... and she gave me GOOD (above average) rating for everything... is that good enough to send? or do you think i should redo it with another advisor?
im GT human ec....
thanks

has anyone actually transfered to Cornell using the guaranteed transfer?
(Human Ecology?)
After how many years? Whats your experience like? pros/cons?
Do you think it was worth the transfer? How do you like Cornell?
Would you recommend the transfer? etc...
thanks

hey figgy....

the professors don't care if you're transferring to cornell. I told my professors and from that point on, they've treated me a lot more different (in a good way.) Whenever I walk into class, I get handshakes (NOT KIDDING), they're constantly smiling at me, and the such. One time I asked the professor a question in class and he LITERALLY spent 30 minutes answering my question, going through every detail.

they respect you a lot more if you tell them. so. tell them. :)

i guess they're looking to network as well. some of my teachers are grad students this semester and i guess its hard to network with many ivy leaguers down in florida.
