It goes without saying that I am lucky and appreciative for Cornell giving me the option to enter after I complete all my prerequisites. It is my top choice and I was excited when I received the offer for guaranteed transfer after I finished all the prerequisitions.

However, I am missing only 7 credits. They only want me to complete two classes before I can transfer (maintaining a 3.0 average as well). I am taking one course over the summer and the other one I will have to take in the Fall 2007 semester because this science class has all classes full at my school and all schools in the surrounding area.

I desperately want to enter this Fall 2007 semester and not waste any more time as I have 3 years at my Community College because I completed an Internship and Study Abroad.

I guess I see it a little foolish to make me wait because I am missing one class before the school year is to start.

Any advice, should I call and ask around and see what is available. I guess I'm wondering most is: has anyone else asked to be admitted earlier. Or should I just sit back, take my two courses and just wait for another 7 months?

We're not the people you should be talking to about this. E-mail (or preferably call) the admissions office of your college. Exceptions like this would be allowed/denied on a case-by-case basis.

They told me they would not let me enter until Spring 2008. They said that their decisions are final. However, I sent them another email asking if if I do complete my prereqs before the Fall could I enter. I think that's going to come back as a rejection too.

Could there be a good reason they are delaying me? Other than saying that I am not prepared? I mean how important is biology in business?

Well GTs work because there are open spots created when people go to study abroad of take internships...if they let u in now then u won't be a gt filling an open spot but just a regular freshman that would come in like normal...but that's not how GTs work. They fill in spots that are created...not come in with the whole. You know what I mean? Nothing wrong with GTs (obviously lol, seeing as how I am one ;) ), but they just don't have the same purpose as an incoming Freshman.

That's my guess as to why they wanna keep you a GT. They might also want to see if you can handle freshman year at another college and maybe that's why they didn't admit you as a Freshman. So many reasons, so little time lol.

GL tho, if I were Cornell I'd let u come as a Freshman lol
