GT's at UM

Hey, if you're a Guaranteed Transfer, and you are going to University of Miami this year, PLEASE POST HERE!!!

So far, I have found 2 of my fellow GT's at Miami! There is probably more! If you are, please reply!

Did u actually meet up with them? Cool people? Why even ask, we all r yaaaa

yeah, they're really cool. makes me wanna go to cornell more than ever.

heey im at UM too, i met 1 going to ILR and one going to Hotel Mgmt. Who else are u guys, facebook me

woah...i didn't know there were so many of us at UM lmao.

Who is the one at Hotel Management? What's his/her name? Screenname? Phone? Email?

bump........................

So.... why is your location Cornell University - Ithaca, NY....?

its for 'motivational purposes' lol

Ya my lit teacher mentions Cornell every now and then (today) and it just reminds me of how much I want to go. Then in Public Speaking we have to make a resume...it's like awww, but this isn't what my resume is actually going to look like (cuz it'll be + Cornell). Then I have to hide it from my advisor (/teacher) but still make him believe I NEED the certain classes that I say (even tho they kinda go against my undecided LA major hah). And all of that was today. Cornell keeps coming up in my life! lol

crap i think a lot of GTs dont go onto CC.

Clinton845, I think we need to get a HUGE banner and tape it to the UC windows that reads "ALL CORNELL GT'S AT MIAMI MEET HERE 7PM" or something, cos i'm SURE there's a lot more GTs at Miami lol.

lol only 40-50 r going to be real gts next year, so I dont think Miami will have THAT many more lol. There are thousands of colleges in the USA so stop being so greedy ;) lol

haha yeah, but its 40-50 just for ILR. There's CALS and Hotel

True, true. Do hotellies still transfer junior year or was that just how it used to be? I don't see many CALS gts on here either.

The other day i went to this seminar, and to my surprise they taught us about the Cornell note taking style!!! i was SOOOOO... excited!!!!! i am visiting Cornell tomorrow for the first time!!!! i am Extremely Thrilled ;)

haha....my 10 grade english teacher from oxford taught us the cornell note taking style

Figgy: I dunno about hotellies. Yeah, I think most of the GTs on this board are ILR lol. So far at UM, there's 2 ILR's, 1 Hotel, and 1 CALS (she was already accepted at Cornell but decided to stay with her family for 1 year at Miami.)

sorry i gotta bump this again

if you guys don't mind, can you please post your stats. i am applying to ILR as a transfer, currently a freshman in nyc. i'd like to know my chances..thanks

Sure thing. Here's my stats:

Highschool GPA: 3.8

College GPA: Don't know yet, but from the way my grades are going so far, I'm guessing its somewhere around 3.7 - 3.9. For ILR GTs, we have to maintain a 3.3, with no grades below a "B."

SAT I: 720V, 780M, 740W (Took only once)
SAT II: 800 Math II, 760 Math I, 740 Bio, 680 US History

High School Extracurriculars:
SGA VP, Treasurer, Historian (different years)
President - Debate Team + Numerous Awards
President - Model UN
Basketball (Only Freshman year)
Numerous Essay Contest Awards

That was pretty much in brief. Hope it helps.

Just so you know, our stats really don't matter. We are Guaranteed transfers. We aren't in the pool of competition.

HAHA I KNEW IT!!!!

we just found another one who is a GT. Haha...There HAS GOT TO BE MORE.
