Guaranteed Transfer to UMD College Park

On a different College Confidential Site, a poster stated that "Here in Maryland, certain have CC's (Community Colleges) have agreements with U-Maryland College Park to guarantee admission if the CC student has a 3.0 GPA".

Is this true or is transferred quaranteed to one of the colleges in the University of Maryland system?

From what I understand, the answer is both. For example, Howard Communtiy College does NOT guarantee admission to UMD CP, but to one of the Maryland four year colleges.
Montgomery College however, has at least one program that guarantees admission to UMd CP if you meet the conditions of that program. I can’t remember what the program is called.
Hope this helps

The above poster is right. If you have a certain amount of credits (can’t remember exactly) and above a 2.0, you’re guaranteed admission to at least one of the colleges in the University System of Maryland.

The program you’re thinking of is the Maryland Transfer Advantage Program, which is specifically for guaranteed admission to University of Maryland, College Park. There are four partner community colleges (MC, AACC, PGCC, College of Southern Maryland), and after admission to MTAP, you need at least 30 credits with a minimum 3.0 and they guarantee you admission to UMCP. I enrolled in the program at AACC.
