are you a legacy at UVA? Echols for out of state is really off the charts!
This is for the OP.

Legacy/?? haha, no way!

Is UVA Echols really that good?

idk i think echols is overrated. The benefits that they have don't really seem like benefits perhaps except some money. I asked some friends who got UVA echols and they were like idk "what's the benefit except money?"

I got a 1 year GT to Cornell CAS. . . It seems like most others got GT's to ILR and the ag school. Anyone else with arts and sciences GT's? My required GPA was 3.2 for acceptance, and no grade lower than a C. I'm not sure if I'll transfer or not . . . either going to NYU or IndianaU for the first year.

Omg....free Ride To Uva! Plus Free Laptop!!!!!

kapper man...same thing happened to me. I got GT'ed from CAS, same requirements. It seems to be a very tricky situation, but also one we can use to our benefit

i didnt know that CAS gave out guarantee transfers....

So who is/is not sending in the transfer confirmation form? I will.

I mean who will/will not ACCEPT the transfer spot?

Ya I wonder wat the stats are for the people who actually go overall from the people who got GT and didn't go because they didn't qualify or just didn't...

I also received a GT to Cornell, and an offer of admission to UVA from out of state. Wahoo-wa! I'm from NH and had applied to CALS at Cornell ED, with a major in bio, although I'm sure I will love it in Charlottesville. See you around the grounds!

So I figured I wanted to go to the place where I'd be the happiest freshman year. I found a college where everyone so happy there and doing the whole laying out on the grass and playing in the grass thing. Everyone was just really happy. So I finally get my financial aid package from there and its **** (like $5,000) and they said that they just ran outta money. I write them a letter saying that I need more money if they want me to go. I just got a response yesterday and now I got over $26,000 for freshman year! I'm really excited and I think I'm going to go and have a really enjoyable freshman year!

figgy, thats awesome, congrats.

no grade lower than a C for CAS? and 3.2 GPA?

ah damn...i was GT'd for ILR and they dont allow any grade lower than a "B" and a 3.3 GPA

is ILR considered harder than CAS or something? because it certainly doesnt seem like it.

Seriously, I hate comparing our ILR requirements to the other school's...I'm just pretending the other ones don't exist lol. (The "B" one is especially irritating because it makes you not want to explore :( ).

omg ilr is sooo much harder! not fair!

You all should feel fortunate. I understand no one got off the waitlist from CALS - AEM and I haven't heard about any GTs being offered. The glass is half full. ;)

Oh of course I'm thrilled, but there is a fly in the glass that I can't seem to fish out ;) (lol jp tho because I love the chance to go to Cornell!!!!)

Drink it. Think of it as extra protein! jk
