I was offered a guaranteed transfer last year and it says that I have to submit the application by March 15th, the same date that I could potentially apply to other transfer schools. I was wondering if anyone knows if responding to a guaranteed transfer is binding, or could I submit it and use it as a safety if I don't get into my first choice. Thanks

The GT is not binding, you can do whatever you want. Good luck with transferring. One thing to note though is that Cornell does have a large transfer community, it would be easy to fit in.

One more question, is it easy and common for transfer students to join fraternities? Thanks

yeah i was wondering this as well

Yes...plenty of transfer students decide to join a sorority or fraternity.

Do most transfers rush in the fall or wait until formal rush in the spring? I feel like I would want to rush in the fall seeing as I would already be a sophomore. Also, how many of the fraternities usually offer fall rush and are they just the fraternities that didn't have a full pledge class the spring before?

I know transfers who rushed in the fall and a lot that are rushing in the spring. I have no idea how many transfers rush but I know a lot that are going to. However I know a lot who wouldnt. As far as joining one it is a lot easier if you know ppl in frats and know what type of place you want to rush. (Look on juicycampus to get an idea) It mostly depends on the individual. Also, Fall rush is a lot easier but spring is considered more fun.

man - frats are expen$ive

i heard when you compare them to on campus housing and a meal plan theyre actually usually cheaper. and having fun usually costs money
