I sent in my app today online, and i will turn in the printout telling my school to send my transcript on monday - ne guesses on when i will get a decision? cuz my senior yr is over if i get in lol

No idea. I gonna send my transcripts on coming Monday or Tuesday too. Anyway, did your online app status say that your SAT I / ACT score is received by UIUC? I have already sent my SAT I score to UIUC, but my status says the score is not received yet.

mine doesnt say anything as far as status, but i didnt send any score reports out because my high school's transcript contains the scores, which are considered official ; )

I've sent everything in and my status changed from "Incomplete" to "Complete-Pending Review." I hope I get a decision soon. Any idea when decisions start coming out for complete applications?

Will they not look at anything til they get the transcripts?

I applied online this morning, and am planning on seeing my counselor tomorrow...::fingers crossed:: but she's hard to get ahold of; so do they at least start looking with what they have?

Eeek. Question;

"Admission Type: Regular Admission "

I thought if i applied before November 15th, it was priority? Or is it just cause they haven't gotten my money, HS transcripts, college transcripts, or test scores?

Mine is also called "Regular Admission" even though everything's in. I think we're fine and that's just what they call it. As for your status/decision, I'm pretty confident that even if you application is in, they will not make any decisions until every piece is finished (transcript, test scores, etc.) If you are missing these components, it will continue to say "Incomplete".

I don't think they will consider making a decision until it says "Complete-- Pending Review"

"Regular" admission is what UIUC calls all of its freshman admissions, so do not be concerned about that. In the past, UIUC did not start releasing most decisions until about mid to late November (after the priority date), although some of the colleges have sent some notices even before then, particularly to those who meet designated high class rank and test scores that allow the computer to automatically admit. "Complete--Pending Review" is what everyone gets once all required materials are in.

Do they HAVE to see the ACT scores before they will admit you. I will apply as a freshman and have sent in my high school and community college transcripts. Ive taken the ACT before and got a 24 but I am taking it again next Saturday to raise my score

Your file will not be designated Complete: Pending Review so you can be considered for admission until they have an official score sent by ACT. Thus, if the new test is the only offical test you order, your file will not be reviewed for admission until it arrives. Note, that score will get there by end of September/early Oct if you designated UIUC as a college to receive it on your app. and you are fine by getting a score there by then.

UIUC announced yesterday (9/13) some new policies relating to decisions. Under old system: (a) they generally started sending out decisions mid to late November on a rolling basis but many, even if they applied by priority deadline, could wait as late as February or March to be notified of anything; (b) you had to apply to a particular college and major and that would be the only college you would be considered for.

Changes to above policies beginning this year: (a) they will continue the rolling admission proces but now all who apply (and get all necessary materials in) by the priority date, Nov 15, will be informed of one of three things by no later than Dec 15 -- admit, reject, or deferred for later decision after all applications are in; (b) those who apply after the priority date or are deferred for later decision will be informed by no later than March 1 of decision -- and can be informed earlier on a rolling basis; (c) you still apply for a particular college and major but all students who apply for a college other than Liberal Arts and Sciences will be considered for admission to LAS (likely undecided/general curriculum) if the college they apply to determines not to accept them (this explains why the new app has a question after choosing your major and college that asks whether you would like to also be considered for another related major including general curriculum; thus anyone who applies, particularly to a college other than LAS, should answer that question yes).

Thanks for the update. Just sent my stuff in. Hoping for a favourable reply! Good luck to all applicants! (:

Zona,
Good luck on the ACT! That 24 is kind of marginal for UIUC. If you get up to a 27 you should be OK for L&S.

still no decision yet, has anyone receive one? is it unreasonable to expect a decision this early if my app is "pending decision?"
