Guide to Housing at USC

****, scratch what I said. I think the person at USC must’ve misunderstood what I said when “deposit”. I meant the $45 deposit, not the $300 one. Ehh. Ignore me.

Haha, thats okay.

Do we have until 11:59PM PST May 9 to change housing stuff? Or is the deadline earlier than midnight tomorrow?

For your information…

im a sophmore transfer who got assigned to pacific apartments. i want a social atmosphere, because i like partying and also because i know no one at USC. should i apply for a reassignment? if so, where should i apply? i feel the apartments will have kids who won’t be too outgoing and i wont meet as many people (kinda feel like ill have to redo freshmen year, which sucks but i dont see any other option unless someone can point something out). so yea, which dorms and why…

@fenderbender I’m in the same position as you. Sophomore transfer, and I got assigned to Annenberg (which I’m stoked about). I’m exciting to live near campus, but I feel like I have some catching up to do.

yea man dont you feel like were gonna be too far away from everyone to meet people…anyone here that can give us an idea?

where are you transfering from btw ?

pacific and annenberg are relatively far from campus and the apartment complexes aren’t social. just giving you a heads up… (make sure you get a bike)

the only social apartment complexes would be troy/troyeast, century, and cardinal gardens. and when i say social i should probably say “social” since it is nothing like the dorms.

than in our scenarious, where should we reapply for…century or an actual dorms

and keep in mind how late in the year it is…

no don’t apply for the dorms unless you’re 100% sure thats what you want. you’re going to be 20/21 and you’ll be stuck with a bunch of 18 year olds.

im going to be 19 (entering sophomore). but still people mature a lot the first year of college so i know what you mean.

but im not confident in the apartments and the people in the apartments being enough to get me to the point socially that i am now in my current college (after one year), or to the point sophmores at usc are at after one year at sc.

and what about webb or flour tower? or cardinal gold or those apartments next to cardinal how are all of these ?

hey I am a 19 year old transferring in for sophomore year, and i am in annenberg apartments. I feel like part of the challenge for any transfer student is making new friends and rebuilding a social life, so even though annenberg as people have said really isn’t a social dorm, I have kind of resigned myself to live there. there is no way any of us can magically get on the same level socially as kids who were at SC for freshman year

I am planning on rushing a frat in the fall and joining as many clubs and orgs as possible to meet a bunch of people on campus, that is the best way I think for transfers to become involved no matter where you get assigned

still i think it would be best to reassign…although all the things you mentioned are still just as important…

anyone that can give me input on places like webb flour and cardinal ? there all close to frat rows and parties right (closer than binkart and new north i thought)…

regardless could i get some input?

@fenderbender I’m coming from Mt. SAC. Honestly, I think I’m going to stick with Annenberg. From what pictures I’ve seen, it seems like a pretty cool place to stay at. And thinking over it, I’ll be really involved on campus, so I don’t think I should be too worried about meeting people.

The only thing about Annenberg is that it’s far from campus. Get a bike.

I’m a transfer, and I think I’m going to be staying at Gateway. It’s right across the street from campus and is filled with other USC students, which is a big plus for me since I’m moving from across the country.

If anyone is interested in Gateway and is looking for a roommate, let me know. I love sports and movies, and definitely want to room with a USC student who wants to go to all of the football games(and maybe basketball, too.)

Hey guys!!!
I have a room available in a 2BR apartment (guy or girl doesn’t matter) for only 875 a month!! You can have your own room for this much, or you can share the room for less than 450 a month, which is VERY cheap for near USC!
I need someone to take over my lease as I cannot stay here anymore. Please let me know if anyone is interested!!!
If you want, you can take over the whole apartment for 1750 as well if you have other roommates. The apartment is located at [Trojan Palms | Rampart Properties](http://www.trojanpalms.com)

Please help me out here!! thanks!!! =)

applied to be reassigned…to webb and century and flour.

Hey guys, I was accepted to USC as a transfer (sophomore). I finally got my admissions packet yesterday(!) and I’m really confused about housing. There was nothing in my folder about what housing I was assigned to, just a ‘Living at USC’ booklet. I feel most housing would be filled at this point - should I just look for off campus housing?

@Forilla- I believe you had to apply for housing in order to be assigned. You could try calling USC, but most on-campus housing looks pretty bad anyways, lol.
