I am at the end of my junior year, i take my SAT in two days and im in need of some advice. I have a 91 GPA with all ap classes(since feshman year) as well as BC Calculus on my schedule for senior year. I am an Academic Decathalon state champion in Texas, Captain of the debate team, I have played varsity basketball and track since freshman year, and Im the Class president. Im not in the top 10% and i am expecting about a 1900 on my SAT. I want to know what my chances are of getting into UT Austin or UC Berkley.

Better for UT Austin than UCB.

Texas isn’t as tough as UCB. Texas is bigger and USB has too many Asians with 2300 SATs and top 5% GPA’s in the applicant pool. You’ve got great EC’s though. Congrats.

If you are from TX and you are NOT in the top 10% of your class then UTA is doubtful. As you probably know (but not the other two posters) UT is required by law to take the top 10% of graduates in-state. That leaves very few spots for anyone else and, IMO, they try to get OOS and Internationals to fill those for revenue.

^^
You just have to mention that they’re Asian, huh? Like some different breed of humans. Way to go.

I think you should try to get your SAT score up to around 2100+ to have a better chance.
