When the time comes to select housing for the 2010-2011 semester for ED1 students, do we have a chance to preview how the halls look inside? Is it possible to have a quick tour of each hall in person, or do we simply have to go off of floor plans when we decide?

During Admitted Students Day, in April, I belive all students have the opportunity to view some of the rooms in at least Thurston and Potomac.

Thank you PatM1401. Is there anyway we can pick what type of room we want? Such as a quad, double, or 6 person room? Or do we simply apply for Thurston and GW automatically generates what type of room we get?

on the housing form, which u will have to apply sometime in the summer, you will select a bunch of dorms and put them in order from which u want the most, u will also fill out a survey about what type of roomate u want (pretty generic ie "i want/dont want a smoker, I like/dont mind if my room is clean)…then they have a section where u can put down the name of someone (or more than one) who you want to room with. if those people put u down too, then its almost 99.99% you will be together. however, if u put down one person, u and that one person may be put in a quad with 2 other people. u dont really have control if u live in a double, quad, 5, or 6, unless that is u get into potomac which is all doubles anyways

To PatM:

Do you think the “new” extended theme-based housing for Freshman will have a significant impact on priority? I know it goes ED1/ED2/RD. Next - would it be the Resdience Hall itself or the Theme which is more important.

Of course the COA is based on the cheapest dorm - Thurston, but Freshman could be placed in Madision, Potomac or Pelham (MVC) - which are ~ 3K more/yr.

No, more than likely the new extended theme-based housing will no affect the priority.

also, i would say that the residence hall itself is more important
