GW or Georgetown?

GW and GT are my 1 and 2, but what are my chances?

1420 SAT (760 V, 660 M)
Lots of AP classes
Very competitive HS
6/9 GPA
MANY ECs: Managing editior of a very good yearbook, student council executive board all 4 years- student body public relations director, community service...
In addition, I'm pretty badly dyslexic if that makes a difference.

I plan on applying ED to GW School of Media and Public Affairs.

I would say that you have a good chance at GW, although Georgetown would be more of a reach.

That's what I was thinking, thanks!

well georgetown is definitely harder to get into than gw, both are good schools for what you (and I) are interested in. I don't know how competitive your HS and ur ECs etc, but yeah definitely gw will be easier than gtown

I am applying ED to GW also. I want to be in The Elliot school of International Affairs. Well, both schools are great, and you have a shot at both. GW's media and public affairs school is really hard to get into(the adcom told me they accepted something like 15% last year and 34% overall). I think you can get in ED, but you never know. I think they care more about class rank, though. Do you have a good rank??

Go Colonials!!!

Top 50% :(, I had some health issues in high school and then dysleixa on top of that.

I can't decide between ESIA or SMPA at GW. How hard is it to change once you are there. I'm leaning towards ESIA, but I don't have very strong language credentials.

Yeah, your rank hurts you, but maybe they will look at your circumstances. Does your HS release the rank at all??? I started a thread for ED applicants on the GW board if you are interested(we can share the pain as December slowly comes).

I don't know about which school you should apply to. I guess SMPA if that is what you want to do and if you have little language background.

yes, GW will get the rank:(
