I'm deciding between NYU and GWU. I've always loved NYC and can definitely see myself at NYU, but i'm a little afraid that the classes might be too big, like some of the introductory classes. I also like GW and got a big scholarship but I'm not too sure about DC. I'm going to visit again next week. I'm planning on studying math, statistics, and chemistry.

How do the academics compare with NYU? GW also seems like most of the students are studying politics, is this true?

I’m not an undergrad myself, so don’t take what I say as truth in regards to GW.

But, let it be known that intro classes are almost always massive and bursting with people, often with folks who couldn’t care less about the course.

Which will happen either in NYU or GW, regardless. I think you should go with your gut instinct. If you think you’ll prefer NYC to DC, go with NYC. There’s no use in attending some place you loathe because it won’t help you in the least.
