How is the GWU campus? Is it a campus "per say" - with grass, trees, nice buildings and all that? On the internet it is hard to say.
Thx

The campus is urban and is sprawled over 4 blocks of downtown DC. It is by no means your traditional campus with grass and trees and everything. However, GW does have a second campus or site, called Mt. Vernon that is more centralized with the more traditional feel, being grass, trees, etc. I really wasnt all that impressed with the Mt. Vernon campus b/c i thought it was sort of lame--thats just my impression however. The main campus though, known as Foggy Bottom, is incredibly cool!!! I suggest you visit b/c the urban campus style is definitely not for everyone. I knew as soon as I visited though that I wanted to go to GW. I really love the urban feel of GW. It makes you feel very independent and less like a student and more like an adult. Also, the facilities were pretty top notch! Again, I suggest you visit cause its not for everyone.

This is something I have been considering and worrying a bit about in my considerations. I like GW a lot but I wasnt really interested in an urban campus - i've always pictured myself on a much more traditional campus. Recently, my parents offered the insight though that the National Mall and Reflecting Pool are only a few blocks away from campus, along with plenty of other parks. It's really similar to if you were at a larger school with a big traditional campus where you'd have to walk a distance anywhere- just a few extra blocks to your 'quad'. While I'm certainly no authority on this, and am myself still trying to decide on the school, this gave me some new thoughts on the matter. Consider that and good luck!
