If I don’t get in here I’m probably going to Ohio State or Tulane

AU is definitely an option. I don’t mind Fordham and my state school but I really want to be in DC

So GW admissions has been tweeting people back that they will be announcing the decision date on twitter, instagram and Facebook (as well as an email) thats so new information, so hopefully they are planning for a release soon! Hang in there guys, I wish you the best of luck!

My college counselor talked to admissions this morning and she said they finally finished decisions and would be releasing “soon”. My money is on friday

@skeliz agreed

I’ve found a coping method: simply imagine you are a year from now. Sitting in your Thurston Hall Dorm room, your thoughts turn to the ED 1 applicants. It’s Dec 12th let’s see whats happening… nothing. Dec 15th nothing… etc… and the longer and longer it gets the worse and worse it gets and in your imagination the funnier it gets. Just imagine the twisted irony of appreciating these applicants agony… Yeah, I’m beginning to really lose it waiting!

wait so does anyone know when we’re finding out? I’ve seen too many different answers.
(info from a reliable source please)

no one knows @lavsilveira

Yeah no one has any clue what the date will be (best guess is Friday). Also, there were some people saying the acceptance rate was 64% ED, is that true? I thought the acceptance rate went up 9% (which would make it 39% for ED), but I might be wrong.
And has anyone else just been looking up bios of the dorms to take their minds off of the decision for a few blissful minutes? I really like Potomac!

Last year their acceptance rate was 64 because they switched over to CommonApp exclusively. I imagine that might go slightly down, but not by much.

@Mattc3 That is correct- It may drop closer to 60 but I cant imagine much lower.

Just tweeted at them-still no update. Looks like it’s gonna be Friday people

hi I applied ED to GW and my guidance counselor said that we will hear back at 5 p.m. tomorrow night. Don’t know why he said this but I hope he is right cause I can’t wait much longer.

But people, don’t get too happy about that 60+% acceptance rate. What does it mean? It means fewer applicants applied. Why? Because GW made the application more rigorous and worked to pursue a worthy applicant pool. In conclusion, this higher acceptance rate is actually a bad thing for all with poor test scores or GPAs.

However, if you have something on your app that stands out that helps a lot. With fewer apps they read every single one (unlike the Ivy League where they throw more then half of them in the trash after seeing the applicants name, hometown, and GPA). So, in many ways this is better for you. Just trying to make the point that we shouldn’t worry about being accepted. If you are a reasonable person, and you believe you should be accepted, I believe you will be.

Just an update, I tweeted at admissions asking “is today the magical day?” They responded “we would like to think every day is magical at GWU, but no update yet. We’ll announce on here, insta, Facebook and email!”

Okay, lets analyze that comment. Like 85% of us here want to go to GWU because we have political aspirations. It’s a pretty cool sign that our future alma-mater (knock on wood) is so great at giving a political answer. That answer right there: just classic politician answer.

just talked to my private college counselor who just talked to admissions rep and said notifications are going out on Friday

are the decisions traditionally sent out in the morning or afternoon? does anyone know?

Most colleges send out decisions in the afternoon
