I already have schedules for this Fall and Spring planned out.
They are PERFECTLY planned out for USC and UCLA.
I dun wanna change anything.
If I were to consider Haas requirement to that, it just all becomes messy.

Dhl3 is right the business major has more requirements. They are very specific and they all need to be completed to be considered. It would be pretty tough to just switch to the business major.

wow. most of you guys are very qualified candidates for haas...

Anybody else?

Dhl3 and Sweetny, thanks for your opinions. And Ilikeoranges, thanks for the nice encouragement!

I'm reconsidering applying for business at Berkeley. :( I really wish I could get in though...

Dhl3, I had no idea that Haas gives priority consideration to students who've completed their prerequisites by application. Where did you find that info?

-BanditGirl

Banditgirl, I also was told that by a Haas student. He was at the transfer information session and was really helpful. He said that all of the pre reqs should be done when you apply. I think you would get in for sure for econ.

Just thought I'd bump and update my stats, took two summer classes at Cal.

CC GPA: 3.88
Cal GPA: 4.0
Current: 3.91 (assumes no weighting)
Projected: 3.94 with A's in the "big 5".

In Calculus (Eeek!) and Stats (Zzzz) this semester, I'm more of a humanities guy so we'll se how it goes!

Also, a word about my experiences over the summer: competitive!
Hope we're all in Berkeley this time next year.

lol.

'competitive'? do share

Someone said that Haas gives priority to students who have prerequisites done by the time of application, but no one can really validate any of these statements.

I would think that if Haas saw a qualified student, they wouldn't care if prerequisites were done by the time of application or by Spring. Correct me if I'm wrong.

hey socalgirl, are you excited to start the new fall semester or what! :)

From the Haas counselors I've spoken with, you really really want Prereq's done for sure at time of application, and 9/9 breadth's done too, if possible. Having 7/9 breadth's done is acceptable though.

Socalgal,

I was told by a Haas student and a Haas counselor that you should have the prereqs done by the time of application. The main problem is that there are so many qualified applicants that they have to get nitpicky. I have to agree with Wilderr about the 9/9 breadth too. I will have everything complete by the end of this semester.

Breadth Req + Foreign Lang Req + Pre Req = 19 Classes (=o=)

Btw for social and behavioral sciences, can you take 2 from the same field. Like Psychology 1, Psychology 2 and Sociology1 ? Or you have to take three different subjects?

pretty sure same field is ok.

lol i didnt finish my foreign lang req. im taking it in the spring. but its not really as important. it's not a prereq.

foreign language = international studies
so yay =D

That can overlap right?
correct me if im wrong

FL can overlap :)

I talked to someone who has two transfer friends at Haas, one got in with a 3.57!

WOW how did he do it?

Really good essays and work experience I guess.

yeah, it's happened, but not likely for the average man. that's why im just not too concerned about my 3.77234823532545 getting to a 3.8 anymore lolool
