Hi, I intend to apply for transfer in the fall for Fall 2015 from SMC Scholars Program. By the end of Fall semester, my GPA should be ~3.8, ideally 3.85. However, the one prereq I won't have taken by then will be Calc 2. I'm taking Calc 1 in the summer, but it's likely I won't be able to register for Calc 2 for Fall 2014. This is because I need the clearance from Calc 1 to register, and by the time I finish, the classes will be full for the Fall semester.

Will taking Calc 2 in the Spring of 2015 (after I apply, but before I transfer) hold me back from transferring to any of these schools?

Will taking Calc 2 in the next winter session at least be beneficial for USC Marshall (I know it won't be for the UCs)?

I'll be done with IGETC and Breadth, but I didn't really plan ahead for USC's GenEds and Diversity, so it's possible I don't have any of those done (or very few). Will this nix my USC application from the getgo?

What alternate major should I select for UCLA, given that I'll only have prereqs done for BizEcon/Econ? I'm interested in Financial Accounting, but I won't have the higher level math prereqs completed. If there are any random majors with very few prereqs that I could clear, I wouldn't mind entertaining it just to at least get a UCLA admittance.

-It doesn’t matter

If you don’t finish USC pre-reqs you will most likely get rejected.

BIZECON/ECON, Normally the ALT is either POLITICAL ECON OR MATH/ECON.

^^ Thanks for the help! But USC says “We do not, however, expect you to complete all General Education courses at your current institution, as we encourage transfer students to take advantage of our General Education program.” So I was wondering how many of the 5 Gen Eds/Diversity classes I could forgo and still be in consideration for admission.

Also, I won’t have the upper division math prereqs for Math/Econ, still worth it to place as my alternate?

If you don’t have the pre-reqs for math-econ, just pick any other major you’re interested in. Personally, If I didn’t get into my first pick major, I wouldn’t attend UCLA anyway.
