Haas

Well, I don't think Hongda has a good chance because he/she has 4.00. But looking at his EC and where he comes from and what type of person he probably is...i'm guess, he is somebody they are looking for.

I'm applying to haas with 4.00 but don't think I have such a high chance because I'm worried I cannot offer them everything they are looking for. And the competition is just so insanely strong..

As for the essays, I wish I knew the answer to that. In comparison to other schools, their admission process is quite different - lot of essays and no recommendation letters. So I think they definitely have some weight to the decision. On the other hand, lot of people from those forums say that they hardly look at the essays, they mainly consider your grades. Supposedly, they only read them when you are a "hard to decide" candidate.

So I don't know...anyone has friends in the admission office who would help us out? :)

I am afraid of not getting into Haas because I am Chinese...I have heard that they have too many Asian people.....

Well, they do but that's why i think they have good experience with them so want more :) I don't know, I think you are certainly a strong candidate. Let us know when you find out ;)

Yeah. Definitely. But .......hum.........if I got in, I will let you know right away......if I didn't......you know.....I will let you know after I get out of ER.

=.= chill man... unlike u i did 9/9 breadth and well a lot of other stuff... but didn't u apply to other schools as well? it can't be that hard to settle...

just do ur best at a CC and leave with no regrets.
if u don't take rejections well u can always try again next year

The reason why it’s “extremely selective” is because majority of people applying are already pretty qualified. I always thought 50% acceptance rate was extremely high and it would be easy to get into; however, you have to understand that it isn’t like high school applying to college. You are already in a pool of applicants that are really motivated and have high grades. That is why most students stress about getting in because the peers around them are doing just as well or better. This is just from my own experience though.

^ responding to a 3 year old thread. Not haas material.
