Normally, I would say yes, but its all depends. I have a lot of half hour breaks, but thats because i have to travel from central to north campus and back. My schedule is going to be a pain because of that. Ideally, it is better to have courses back to back so your classes can end earlier and you'll have more time after classes. If you can't do it, its not THAT big of a problem. 1 hour breaks are the worst though, a bigger gap, yet not enough time to be productive.

30 minute breaks? Pretty much all classes on central start on the hour, north campus on the half-hour. Which classes are you taking that give you a lot of half hour breaks, other than engineering and maybe econ?

Yeah, a lot of central campus courses start on the hour, but a lot of them end on the half hour. I've got 4 that way.

What kind of classes are you taking? Only classes I've seen like that have been Econ, but I don't know anything about psych, bio, polisci, etc.

Almost all of the 3cr courses I looked at started or ended on a half hour (usually ended) and met two days a week. Specifically I'm in an Honors Eng 370 section (medieval lit) M&W 10-11:30, CLCIV 464 (ancient epics) T&Th 10-11:30, Complit 382 (greek myth in film) T&Th 1-2:30, and I'm planning to waitlist CLARCH 436 (hellenistic and roman architecture) T&TH 2:30-4.

But I considered some courses in History and Philosophy that were 3cr and they also were the same. So I'm not sure if it's departmental, totally possible...but if it is, I had odd luck on course choices.

I had a schedule like that last year and I liked not being rushed in between classes, especially since I wasn't used to walking in the cold/snow. It's a nice mind and food break.

Ok. I didn't take any "LSAey" classes this year. Pretty much all business. Great Books, Math, Physics, Chem, Spanish, Econ

I hate those short break (30 mins to 2 hours). It is hard to be productive for a short period of time, so I usually try to get all my classes scheduled back to back (I am in LSA though, so all my classes are at the most, ~8-10 mins walking distance away)

i like having all my classes back to back without any breaks.

you get everything done earlier and you don't waste any time in between.

It's interesting how much everyone hates the shorter breaks. For me, it seems that 30 minutes is the perfect amount of time to grab some lunch, etc and if you have an hour or more it seems like an acceptable amount of time to be productive. Heck, if I have an hour and a half I can write a 5 page research paper. Geesh, everyone's acting like if you don't have several hours you can't be productive.

Maybe it's just the fact that I've gotten used to doing stuff with little ones around, but I don't get more than 20 minutes without interuption, but you learn to cram in as much information as you can into whatever little amount of time you get.
