Halloween costume interview!!??

So I'm going to the U of Chicago for an interview....on Halloween. Would it be completely wrong of me to surprise the admissions person while wearing a white sheeted ghost costume over my interview clothes? great way to show personality?? or just over the top?? opinions? Sorry, this is kind of a silly question haha.

I would do it if I were you.

I don’t know how they will react. Personally I do not think it is overly creative and I am still wondering what you mean with showing your personality by putting a white sheet over your clothes. However, I’m not an admissions officer. I am a bit more concerned about the interview clothes. Maybe I’m wrong, but the way you phrase it is giving me the feeling that you plan to come in rather formal clothes. As far as I know doing so is not necessary at all at UChicago. Wear nice clothes that you feel good in and do not exaggerate. Your choice of nice clothes may actually say quite a bit of your personality. My S’s clothes were just on the newer side of what he is always wearing when having his interview. He got in!

It’s also necessary to understand that although battle scarred skate-boarding shoes may look cool, they are not appropriate attire for college interviews.

As for the Halloween costume, I’m undecided (I’m definitely older but not sure how much wiser. It sounds too much like something I would have tried in my day).

I would probably skip the white sheet–they might think you are a Klansman.

LOL Hunt! This is very true, they might INDEED think that I am a Klansman…although it might be a good way to get the ball rollin’ with the admin…you know…unique history topic right? haha TOTALLY joking. Ok well thanks for the input everyone. It’s a good thing I didn’t follow through with that suicidal plan…haha

lol, it would give an edge to your interview! However, I think that since you’re older, the officers will expect you to be more mature. Maybe you could incorporate subtle Halloween elements in your outfit?

Do it!!!
Don’t make it completely obnoxious, but a little Halloween spirit never hurt anybody!

You know what you can pull off, and what you can’t. This is an idea that could work well, but you have to feel comfortable carrying it off. (A fright wig and funny glasses – that you could take off – might be better than a “ghost” sheet.)

I had a friend in law school who used to go to all of his interviews wearing cut-offs and a grungy T with no sleeves. It helped a lot that he had the looks, and the body, of some Greek god or other. He was extremely confident, and 90% of the lawyers interviewing students just ate it up. I had much better grades than he, but if I had tried to do that I wouldn’t have gotten a single job offer.

Doooooooo eet, but don’t do a ghost. Do something better. A NERD or something. They like them. Ooh yess…you lucky lucky ghoul you. Wiggles finger

I miss UofC D:
