I know this isn't necessarily school-related, but since Halloween is coming up, I'd love to know: what is/are everyone's favorite horror movie(s)?

I don’t usually watch gory horror type movies- I prefer the ones that leave it up to your imagination/mess with your head a little, like The Hole and An American Haunting.

I also really like the campy, older movies like Fright Night, Horror Hotel (favorite!), I Bury the Living, and Bucket of Blood (which is surprisingly not gory at all).

That is a tough choice…but I would have to go with a classic like Pet Sematary, Alien or the original Dawn of the Dead.

The Descente (not positive on sp?) is a great flick. The British version is the original but I believe the American version has the scarier ending. Sorry I am not positive. I love scary movies and this is clearly the scariest one I have seen. Also watch The Walking Dead series on AMC Sundays at 9pm. Great series!

The French film Ils (Them) was quite scary, the American version (The Strangers) is total pants though.

Silence of the Lambs, but that’s more of a thriller.
Blair Witch Project is a very … oppressive film to watch. You feel like you’re trapped in the woods.
I liked The Orphanage and Julia’s Eyes, got to love Spanish horror.

I like Psycho and Vertigo. The second is more suspense than horror, but I love it.

I completely forgot about Stephen King! The Shining and Pet Sematary are pretty amazing too, as is Silence of the Lambs:)

The Descent. It’s claustrophobia in movie format.

IT, The Shining, those are the only two i can remember…

As far as Halloween-themed movies go: Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland are my favorites.

Horror, specifically, I would say Saw (just the original). Or, if you don’t count Saw as horror (“thriller” you might say). I guess I would say Scream, IT or Psycho.

If a good director made a version of Frankenstein as it was acrually images by Mary Shelley, it would probably be my favorite.

The Shining for sure. But I recently watched the Orphan and it was fantastic! Highly recommend it.

Halloween sucks

I haven’t seen that many. Usually I end up laughing at them, but I do have a couple that really freaked me out.
-An American Crime. Not technically a horror, but it was based on a true story and pretty gruesome.
-The Strangers. This film kept me freaked out for a solid month. It could happen preatty easily in real life and I thought it was terrifying.

I second that. It’s a depressing film; sad to think that it was based on an actual case.

My favorite horror movie is Twilight. I mean, it’s just pure blood, gore, and suspense shivers

-------------------------------------------If it is to be, it is up to me…

Rosemary’s Baby.
