NHS

BEACON program (GT)

Bio or Anthropology Major

this is very vague info.. but no i dont think your stats are sufficient for harvard

What about Dartmouth!?

No, you need to provide far more about yourself...

I have a weighted 109 and I don't even think I could go to Harvard.

109 is an obvious sign of inflation!

Be a bit more specific; any offices held in any of those clubs? Or awards? Colleges look for leadership rather than being in so many clubs.

I would have to say though, being hispanic will definitely help you in the college admissions process.

Maybe if you post more specific information about yourself, people more qualified than I am will be willing to aid you. Sorry for the lack of help.

Thanks for being helpful. Yall are right...I need more positions. I'm really into Student Council as of now....so I thought that Secretary would be enough. I'll probably ending up holding like Secretary in NHS, and maybe SHS. Does that help?

NHS and SHS are respectable and well-established clubs at all high schools, so colleges will know what they are, and the importance of them too. So yes, it would help. But, try to find something that makes you stand out, a hook. Something original that you've come up with. -.-

Maybe Vice-president

I dunno...I really like Indian Dance, but only in this club, so I don't have like insane hours practicing a number of years. I have performed in 2 festivals. I don't know what my hook would be- - -other than I don't care how people think of me (every teenager applying's hook?). I'm in the Medical Mentorship program at my school, where I have a mentor and I meet with them and talk about med school. I will take Diag (venipuncture, rigorous) as a lab, senior year. I'm a sophomore now.

PS I will have like 7-10 APs by graduation (some self-study).

I know I need a hook; I tell people that most of the time, lol. Ironic? Hmm...I'm really spirited...I mean REALLY spirited

i dont think any leadership positions Below VP really help your application... heck, even President/VP are minimal positions, since they involve only the school-level.

Harvard is a very, very longshot. but you are hispanic, and in this cough non-race-biased world, hispanics have a great shot at any school no matter what.

if i were you, i'd count on at most the very bottom Ivy's? (i dont know the 100gpa scale, nor your sat score)

Thanks for the good luck pic asfamurai! =) I mean the whole point of this thread is...should I even bother applying? I mean I know how people say, "Just apply and see if you're lucky?" I don't want to waste my money. Which Ivy would I get into, other than Cornell :-)?
