Reddune, that was the least constructive post, ever. Jags had a good point. You have to be in the top 10% of your class to get into Harvard: 95% of accepted applicants last year were in the top 10%, and it's obvious that the other 5% had something else amazing going for them, ie, they were athletes or special connections.
So, it doesn't matter what your SAT scores are...you will be rejected.

Ha ha, I have never won anything of substantial. Winning "Least Constructive Post, Ever" should stroke my pride plenty. Thank you for awarding me such great honors.

I don't know my rank officially, so I can't give you like the xx/xxx denotation. I'm probably in the top 20%, but it's basically like being in the top 25% to colleges (top 10%, top 25%, top 50%).

Well, I'm not sure. The numbers are not in your favor. if 95% of accepted applicants are in the top 10%, then it doesn't look very good for you.
What about other applicants from your school in past years? How did they do? What were their ranks? Doing some research (if it's possible) could shed some more light.

The lowest I saw was top 5...but they weren't URMs (they were Indian...lol). I know that one kid last year wasn't like all that great (1300+) but was barely got in the top 10% (easier rank for their year), and was accepted to Yale and Princeton.

yeap. I've had a C in Stats, and numerous Bs. I only went to Spanish 3, only Spanish 2 was honors (other was regulars in middle school and Spanish 3 Honors didn't fit).

just a quick question about rank... how do colleges view unweighted ranks? I'd probably be ranked 2nd or 3rd for sure if my school ranked by weights but because we dont, many ppl with relatively lighter courseloads are ranked ahead of me.. I'm in the top 5% of 260 students by unweighted GPA.

why stress out about chances? you obviously didn't get an A in statistics, so why care now? You could totally get in, if you do really well on your essays and do well on your SATs. Just try your best. if they don't accept you, then you were meant for something (or somewhere) else. I was 42 out of 472 at a medical magnet in LA with sports and student govt, and didn't get in... but I went to a UC and had an awesome time and now am at a job I enjoy. It's not WHERE you go to college.. but WHAT you do when you get there. Good luck.

do ranks really even matter???? My school has not ranked its students since 1993 and last year 3 ppl got into harvard....ranks dont tremendously count!
