i think they look at straight numbers less and less now because there are SO many qualified applicants who basically max out the standardized tests

the AI calculator's weird...it doesn't have anything about whether or not the school ranks, but i guess give or take a few points doesn't matter

15 days until December 10th.

it's pretty early, ugh the suspense is killing me.

With the increased applicant pool for EA, how is it that the decisions can be made earlier? I feel bad for the adcoms...probably a lot of caffeine and fighting to stay awake reading thousands of very similar looking applications. Should I be happy that I resisted the many urges to send in extra material? I figured that it would maybe hurt more than help because they have enough to go over as it is. Or was I very very stupid and everyone else does it so I just lowered my chances?

Yes...definite last-minute paranoias surfacing en force.

You guys, I am so scared.

i predict a 50% acceptance rate for our CC'ers...hehe, a bit bold- I admit...but WE CAN DO IT!!! :)

just curious, what is the EA acceptance rate from last year? I heard that it was the same as RD because the applicant pool is more competitive, but some people told me it was 20-30%. I assume the acceptance rate will be slightly lower this year because there are more EAers.

plz plz plz let heir be good news...its my birthday on december 16, harvard dont make me cry on my 18th birthday...a deferral will do, plz not outright rejection... Oh God

Good Luck To All You!

Harvard does not outright reject anyone.

Well, you have to REALLY suck to get rejected outright (I think they accept/defer over 95% of the applicants).

Why defer? It's cruel and unusual.. if I didn't stand a chance, I'd rather be accepted outright!

its your party and you can cry if you want to =)

50%? What are you smoking. There are 4165 EA applicants, if 50% are accepted that's 2082.5 early admits. Then nobody in regular round would get in. Though that sounds pretty awesome for us EAers it's not gonna happen.

well INVICTUS, CC ADMITS MITE BE DIFF FROM REST OF EA POOL, YA NEVER NO

Government or Economics/AI of 237

I think invictus misunderstood the post about 50%, that was just the desirable acceptance rate for members of this board. I'm hoping for 100%...that would only be around 50 people, so it's possible!

(20% acceptance rate)^50 = 1.126 x 10^-35 probability

Let's go for it :D.

that's assuming all applicants have an equal chance of getting in and that external factors don't play a role in it

AI 8/9 (229, I ALMOST made the 9)
Biochemistry or Mathematics (or both...)

wow, this club is getting big
