@intellectboy Waitlisted! It is between Columbia (John Jay Scholar), UPenn (Benjamin Franklin Scholar) and UChicago for economics-math. What would you recommend?
What about you?
HARVARD - Waitlisted
YALE - Rejected
PRINCETON - Rejected
STANFORD - Accepted (Poor FinAid)
AMHERST - Accepted (Poor FinAid)
MIT - Waitlisted
For Economics, simply rule out UPenn. Columbia and UChicago will be a better choice but also look out for FinAid awards, Stanford made me sad when they released their FinAid awards shattering all my dreams to attend this elite school. sigh
@intellectboy Amherst gave you poor financial aid?! Appeal again, maybe? I thought they boasted of huge resources and an excellent aid program.
Not seeking aid, but John Jay Scholarship provides opportunities for funded summer research/internships. I am kind of digging Chicago, but not sure if it equals Columbia overall… @intellectboy
Sorry to hear about Stanford…I am sure you will do well wherever you go. But can’t you re appeal to Amherst?
I called up Amherst they said appeals have to be made post 5 April but made few points clear that they offer full financial aid for tuition but I am not sure whether they also offer for accommodations or not.
@intellectboy Best of luck! Hope you get great aid. Amherst is an excellent school, with great monetary resources…
Looking forward to April 5… Meanwhile, I will trying speaking with Stanford Adcoms as well…
Harvard is not Oxbridge. The interviews are not selective in the least.
Incorrect. Harvard offers selective interviews in some countries (including India). It is important to note that no other college I know of does this.
