I recently found out about this a few days ago, and I'm really interested in getting more information about it ... but does anyone know how their application process works? I mean I'm sure tons of high school kids apply but what are they looking for ... thanks!

i just looked it up and it looks mad interesting too

I emailed the contact ppl bout it

My school goes to it every year.

Mine does too...
but we had an off year last year to raise funds so I wan't able to do anything.
Hopefully I'll be able to attend an even this year. I'm hoping for San Fran.

I looked up the Model Congresses online and personally I think ill have my schools MUN (which im vp of) go to the Columbia Model Congress, which is a LOT CHEAPER (instead of like 500$ per person its only 35$ plus gas money)

So HueyFreeman and Chipmoney, here's a question for you: is there any application you need to fill out? And how many other people from your school go with you? And what subject does your faculty adviser teach? Just curious .. thanks!!

I don't know about forms...
I haven't been to one yet since it was a break year.
But we usually send about 30 people to the one in san fran and boston and 9 or 10 to the international ones. And the faculty advisor teaches history.

There was no application that I had to fill out. I don't remember the exact number but about 20 kids came last year. And the advisors were all history teachers.

No applications? Wow I'm kinda of surprised ... I would think that there would be an overload of schools & people who sign up for this program.

Things like this further convince me to transfer schools. My school doesn't have a MUN, we have totally unmotivated students and incompetent teachers. So, I'm guessing my going to the HMC is out of the question.
