How I envy the QuestBridge applicants.

And to those talking about the physics/philosophy track, I also want to follow something along those lines. Harvard has some interesting quantum mechanics classes.

yeah but only in the college application process ;)

Is QB more competitive, though, because money’s involved? A school can accept a student but not like him/her enough to give him/her aid, but for QB, if the school gets to that point, does it reject the applicant?

Hey guys, I’m Harvard 2014 hopeful from Minnesota :P

I thought the majority of QB applicants are URM? there’s a hook in the application process…

Hi everyone! I applied to Harvard. I plan to double major in econ/politcal sci/int’l affairs, and Spanish. Still don’t know which of the first three I like, but I love Spanish:)

Although QB applicants have an upperhand in college admissions, in terms of when they know decisions, they generally come from more difficult backgrounds.

I don’t think it’s easier or harder to get in through QB. Money is involved, which might make it harder, but the colleges look at the circumstances that each of the QBers come from, and understand that they might not have had the same opportunities.

Ahh nice to see some other possible Physics majors!

Anyway, I’m in the International applicant pool (not sure if that’s good or bad).

I’m an Italian-American Hopeful, from FRANCE - don’t ask, was my dad’s idea. Anyway I’m thankful now that i got to show that i was force-fed a third language into fluency on my app haha.

I’m pretty sure that concentration doesn’t exist at Harvard (it does at Yale, though!).

You also can’t double major at Harvard.

wow… all my future classmates!! ;P

Ive been dreaming of Harvard for over 5 years now… ='>

^^ I thought you couldn’t double major at Yale, but at Harvard it is a possibility for close fields.

Nope, you can double major at Yale (lots of people do). At Harvard you can’t double major, but you can come up with a “joint concentration” that combines two fields into one program of study.

I applied to Harvard in Mid- December. Like all y’all I realize that I most likely won’t get in. It is kind of disappointing, but at the same time I don’t know if I would go to Harvard if I got in. Not because Harvard isn’t good enough, but because it is too good. Every kid who attends Harvard has to be a genius, and on the chance I got in I think I would be bottom of the class and not be able to keep up with some of my peers. I’m sure many of you fit into the passionate and unique mold Harvard wants, but I’m just your standard overly smart academically achieving teen. Being in the BC Honors Program seems like a better way to stand out for grad school.

I know everyone got mad earlier for people bashing harvard and thats not what I’m doing at all btw :)

Hey, I’m from Iowa! I would be thrilled to be accepted into Harvard, but I will not be surprised if I get rejected, ha! Good luck everyone…three more months…

Could someone please give me a link to something that says you can’t double major? I’ve personally talked with a Harvard adcom, and she said that you can double or even triple concentrate. It’s all about what you want to concentrate in.

[Harvard College Freshman Dean’s Office Concentrations](http://fdo.fas.harvard.edu/icb/icb.do?keyword=k3806&pageid=icb.page40984)

“Some students find that their interests are best accommodated by pursuing a joint concentration which combines two distinct concentrations. Unlike the systems of majors and minors or of “double majors” that exist at many other universities, a joint concentration integrates the two fields into a coherent plan of study, such that the two fields build on each other. Joint concentrations are generally honors programs, and they ordinarily culminate in an interdisciplinary senior thesis.”

There have been several threads here as well asking about double majors in the past (you can do a search), and they’ve all said you can’t double major.

Hello all! I’m from Hawaii (if you didn’t already guess that from my name). I applied to Harvard without having my hopes up so hopefully I won’t be heartbroken in the end. I do hope to be the first person from my school to ever get into Harvard. My stats probably aren’t nearly as good as anyone else here, but hopefully my essays will make up for it. Good luck to all!

Ah, hawaiiboy1992, I wish we could be one person. That was not meant to sound so creepy. My stats are solid (in the most unconceited way possible), but my essays are what I’m most worried about. I doubt they’ll stand out.

I don’t want to expect rejection, but I kind of do. I mean a 7% admit rate among the top students in the country? Nothing to be excited about.

Hi! I’m from New York and I will be rejected. Good luck everyone!

I just LOL’ed at this :D

HA you guys crack me up
“My name is stupefy, I’m from pennsylvania, and I too will be rejected ;)”
