Harvard RD Class of 2020 Applicant Thread

@glasshours couldn’t have explained my feelings any better myself :’) I AGREE WITH YOU LOL

@rahuilmars231 : Well I am prepared indeed for the rejection and have done the best I could. No matter what decision they make, it’s their own decision whether I would fit the school or not and that’s totally fine by me.

@anotherdude wow thats just awesome man!
I’m so jealous lol. What other colleges did you get into?

Well with that +97% reject/waitlist rate, the odds are not really in my favor right about now.

That does not change my mind about the waffles tho. @HarvardAdmissions just hit me up through email, and I will get those to Boston right away!

@anotherdude Nice!

I’m getting very anxious! I’m getting a lot of love from my state but I can’t wait to hear from the East Coast.

@rahuilmars231 Just UIUC CS

Im getting super anxious as well… good luck, everyone!

I heard that selected international students were called for an interview. Were any one of you called for an interview yet?

Do you think that if I was offered and interview but couldn’t make it (I’d have to fly over to England, cause I no longer live there), it will hinder my chances?

@DVDplayer does that apply to countries were interview is not available?

@Sheroman2020II I don’t think so. Feel free to not answer this if you want to maintain anonymity: Where are you from?

@MaryPolyglot It’s difficult to say because you have a legit reason for not attending an interview if it is in England. But you definitely try to walk in for an interview if you are called. Try alternatives, maybe? Request them to schedule another interview close to where you live now. You wouldn’t want to miss out on the opportunity.

I did try alternatives, but as I live in Spain now, I guess they don’t have enough interviewers here. :confused:

@anotherdude Nice man!

@DVDplayer sure, I am from Ethiopia :slight_smile:

@Sheroman2020II I’d expect them to have alumni in Ethiopia who can conduct interviews. Not sure though.

@Marypolyglot Did you see if your interviewer would be willing to conduct the interview over Skyoe? I think having an interview as an international could only help.

International students, don’t worry if you didn’t get an interview! Even though the Harvard brand is strong, there might not be enough/any alumni in your area who have volunteered to interview applicants. Also, maybe an online/phone interview is not possible due to the time different between you and admission officers. Most people who have interviews ultimately aren’t accepted, and there are people who are accepted but never did interviews. It’s not even a required part of your application (do you see an interview report on your harvard portal checklist? no), so it’s not going to be weighed heavily in their evaluation of your application. Good luck to all :slight_smile:

Any news on likely letters? not expectations here but one can hope
