Harvard RD Class of 2020 Applicant Thread

If you weren’t offered one, they won’t put that against you.

@Jado17 I e-mailed the Harvard fileroom and they told me to add any updates/new accomplishments through the portal. So I just uploaded a letter of my new accomplishments to my portal.

@alexxxcee Thanks for telling me. I think that’s what I’ll be doing.

@Jado17 no problem! :slight_smile:

If my counselor talked about my new accomplishments in my midyear report, should I still upload new updates to the portal? What do you guys think?

@Starior I think having your accomplishments in your midyear report is better! I mean, would you rather hear about how great a student is from a reputable adult or from themselves? You can send updates yourself if you’re not sure your counsellor sent them.

Hello, did any international students who already had an alumni interview have a second interview with an admissions officer at Harvard?

@Rubisco228 I’m an international and had my interview in late January! I haven’t heard of many people getting a 1st interview, much less a 2nd one? What is the significance of that?

@kuriosmind Im asking because a friend of mine who got in a few years ago had two interviews. The first with an alumni interviewer, and the second with an admissions officer on Skype.

Don’t all ivies release decisions on the same day? I forget the name for it but it’s like “ivy Tuesday” or something. Does anyone know if that’s the same this year? Harvard says by April 1 but it will probably be earlier I suspect.

@bostonliving9696 It’s traditionally been called “Ivy Day” and you are correct in that they do release decisions on the same day. They are releasing them all on Ivy Day, which is 3/31 this year. They are bound to an agreement to release decisions on the same day.

Which is funny because Harvard says late March, Yale says April 1st, Dartmouth says Early April, Brown and Princeton say March 31st. :stuck_out_tongue: I guess they’re not gonna change it until the very last minute on their website.

on my portal yale actually said March 31st XD

XD These guys…Well gotta give 'em some slacks. It’s the busiest time of the year anyways. :stuck_out_tongue: But the official day is March 31st. Only 20 days left!! The hype and anxiety!

Wondering if anyone had applied for a Mathematics major and has got a LL?

I was called a few days ago by the admissions office and they let me know that I was accepted! I guess it was sort of a likely letter but in the form of a call. They said they had gone over the applications from my region that day, and were so sure of their decision that they wanted to let me know early. Yay!

@kelsey9874 : Congratulations! You must have been a very very impressive applicant!

@kelsey9874 congratulations!!!

You must have felt amazing to get that call :slight_smile: it’s one heck of an achievement to get into Harvard

@kelsey9874 Congratulations!
