It seems Stanford selected more with 1900-2200 SAT range than perfect scorers. Reference: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/1873356-stanford-2020-regular-decision-results-thread.html
Does Stanford give full finaid to internationals? I know it’s wrong place and time to ask, but considering most of us have applied.
@APersonsHistory Yup I know a guy who got into Stanford and not Harvard. And I know another guy who got into Stanford and Princeton, but not Harvard.
It sucks because deep down I know I’m probably not going to get accepted, but I still keep believing that maybe someone saw something in me and Harvard will take me…
when does harvard come out (date and time)?
@gxssipgirl Same, I keep telling myself I got rejected but I was interviewed by a notable alumni who gave me the highest reccs and I’m holding on to this false hope :((
Guys, if I’m about to send Harvard a Letter of Continued Interest (Have nothing to lose), should I fax it?
@MohTamer wouldn’t hurt but at this point I feel like they already have our decisions made and are probably just working on the financial aid of the accepted students
Accepted into JHU, Cornell, Amherst, and most probably Emory (Can tell from the emails)
Only the Ivies remain (Applied to all)
My DREAM is Harvard. But I can also tell from the way they respond to my inquiries that I’m probably rejected.
I’m an Egyptian and I intend to double major in Physics & Mechanical Engineering.
But they WILL read it, right?
@MohTamer I sent Princeton an email of continued interest earlier this month since I was deferred EA back in November and they responded back with “will add this to your file”, I guess they will read it but I honestly don’t know the impact it will have toward their decision
Do you think a fax would do better than email/portal? I feel that it would grab their attention more, or atleast kinda make them read it, am I right?
Also, are there any cover sheets, or should I just send it?
It would be sent on Monday, before they arrive to the office, which I hope will be better, as the officers wouldn’t have started the tiring work yet xD
@MohTamer Hey! I’ve sent stuff before and fax or portal should both work, definitely not email though. I think fax is best at this point. About cover sheet, I don’t think it matters as long as you have something for them to identify that it’s from you. Just send it asap, good luck!
“But I can also tell from the way they respond to my inquiries that I’m probably rejected.”
Sorry but what do you mean by this?? Did they not respond properly?
Thank you!
And, when I sent emails to JHU, the response came in a way kinda like yours - eagerly helpful - which made me feel that I’m accepted, which turned out to be true. Emory looks to be the same, but we’ll see!
As for Harvard, the response is like, answering my question. You can answer my question in such a helpful and meaningful way! Or you can just answer it. Get my point? That is why I feel that I’m probably rejected.
@MohTamer I think faxing is better since it’s more likely to catch their attention. My only fear is that decisions have probably been made already at this point, so an extra letter might have little to no effect at all.
@MohTamer Nah, don’t worry about their reply. It might just depend on whoever is on the other side. Perhaps Harvard was just too busy at that point to go too much in depth.
