Are these programs worth it, to take classes with professors and college students for almost $10,000? They seem to have a wide range of math and science classes that would grant college credit.

So would getting math/science credit from Harvard or Stanford be worth the price?

Would this look good on application if you got good grades in all your courses or just that fact you had 10k to waste?

It is not.

Are you a high school student? If so, the colleges that you will apply to (assuming you apply to private universities) will not accept your credits.

Yes, I'm a high school student. can you recommend any summer programs in math or science that are "prestigious"

Anyone else have a comment?

I wouldn't go for a program just because it was "prestigious". Of course there are some programs that are more selective than others, but it's best to choose a program that adheres to your interests and you know you are able to gain something from your experience.

Research a summer math/science program that sounds interesting to you and try it out. As long as you are interested in the program for what it offers, that's all that matters. I'm more into the poly sci. side, so I can't really give any specific programs, but I've heard of TASP from these forums. Also, maybe try to see if you could shadow any researchers at a local hospital or university. Internships are "hands-on" so you'll learn a lot from this venture.
