Harvard Transfer (wannabes) Unite

But being at a top 5 school leaves more flexibility.

Not especially. I have seen the grids at Harvard, and the students do not obtain any advantage worth mentioning.

Oh, and please do not post that link to the HLS class profile. I know the number of former Harvard undergrads at HLS is in the triple digits; however, of the grids I saw, and of the GPAs and LSATs I saw of admitted Georgetown students, there is no substantive difference. If you have the numbers, you are fine.

Now for Yale and Stanford... those schools are a whole different issue. HLS boasts the second biggest class, and not a distant second in the least, in the top 15 for a reason.

And I said the thing about being an auto-admit or auto-reject because that's what was said on the other Interview thread Janel, didn't know if you remembered that - I'm not sure what was fallible or illogical about my statement, I simply repeated some other tidbit that had been talked about this year and last, so I wanted to know if anyone know what I was talking about.

Oh sorry. It sounded like you were drawing that conclusion.

Since there are so few spaces, is it safe to assume that if you are a candidate for sophmore transfer and you checked the box that said 'spring or fall,' if you are accepted it will be as a spring admit?
this is probably not logical at all, but it's 4AM now and I've been in the library since 10AM.... hatttteee finals week

sorry guys, but i just felt like sharing my excitement-
I'm the one who's been posting whines about my g.p.a dropping to a 3.88 and how I don't know if I should send my grade to harvard given they are trying to make a decision on me now and yadda yadda yadda-
Turns out that my internediate microeconomics professor made a mistake when grading my finals and he just changed it this evening to an A. So I have a 3.92 again like last semester!
Am I ecstatic or what!!!! Yayyyy!!!!

Yeah I am extatic too, but only because when I went on Harvard's course descriptions, I found things like that: "Class meets three hours per week, plus one hour of section, and problem sets can take anywhere from 24 to 60 hours to complete. "

Now that's hot.

I know! that's hot as hell!

Maybe they just underestimate us? Lol.

I am not sure what the big deal is over this. My modal logic professor assigns the same amount of work.

Yah, but this is a class full of IMO golden medalists, which makes a huge difference. It is after all it the hardest u-grad class in the country. Nothing compares with this class.

Why is your professor doing this?

One can propbably expect everything from GTown. Have they spanked you with a big ruler, yet?

Modal logic is not easy.

heyyyyyy georgetown isn't like that at all..... i wouldn't have applied there and i wouldn't be so happy about probably going there if it was.....

Of course, the entire university is not like that, and neither is Harvard. But we do offer courses that can sate a desire for rigour.

i was referring to the big ruler comment, which i assumed was about the jesuits. but really? even in the SFS? I know youre not in the SFS, but this wasn't the impression I got.

Huh? The SFS is the most rigorous school here at Georgetown, with the College in a close second.

And no, the jesuits do not "hit you with rulers." Heck, my some of the jesuits I know even curse.

no no, i know, that's what i was saying, you said some classes could be too easy and i was saying 'even in the sfs?' good to clarify, im so ready for it.

vyou said some classes could be too easy and i was saying 'even in the sfs?'

I never said that there are easy courses here.

Well... there are easy courses...

...but for some reason, I am one of the few students who maintain that. It seems like everyone else is getting the beating of a lifetime (even students who are in the same courses as I).

So, let's shoot out some hypothetical questions. Just for fun.

If you went to Harvard...

A. What residence hall would be your first choice?
B. Would you go to the parties?
C. Where would be your favorite place of study?
D. What would your major be?
E. Are you excited to be flat broke after paying off all those H-Bomb loans?

For me, hehe: Winthrop, some yes, my dorm's library/dining hall or maybe some of the smaller libraries like upstairs in Sever or in the Science Center, Philosophy, oh hell yes!
