harvard.

Goodluck you guys! I hope you guys get in! :]

i asked a family friend, who worked in admissions for 6 years about it, and he said it would be fine and that it wouldn't look too aggressive, so I just sent them a short letter. Basically, it was just the following:

-I've been asked to help work on/do research for an article that my advisor is writing
-i've been asked to ta an upper level phil course in the fall
-tutoring that I've been doing at the recommendation of an english prof for a class I took last spring
research that I'm hoping to pursue on my own with the help of a prof in the psych dept

definitely not earth-shifting, but I think it brings together some of my extra-curriculars. meh. it's sent, i will proceed to not be anxious about it.

Does anyone have any new information about when the decisions might be released?

i wish i did...

are they going to be posted on that webpage (pin and password) with all of your test scores and home address???

no, they said they would email them as it's more secure

seeing how no one has posted in here for a while i thought i would bump the thread. I was looking at the website for student status, and we can log into that website till the 15th, this sunday. The corresponding website for undergrads allows them to login till the day they recieve a decesion. Do you think we will hear on sunday via e-mail? perhaps monday? For better or worse at least we will not need to wait for snail mail like we did with yale

I think we'll hear on or before the 15th.

seriously? last year most didn't find out till the 19th

-Annie

do you think we will be able to tell by the size of the email if we got in or not. I have never had a decision rendered via email before and was wondering if size matters?

lol. you bring up a good point.

i can just see myself sitting there for an hour trying to analyze everything I can without actually opening the email.....

eesh

At this point, I just want to GET an e-mail!

oh me too, but just GETTING the email might result in a small heart attack, it has been SUCH a long wait....

Do you think the e-mails will be sent by Monday or Tuesday?

last year's posters mostly found out around the 19th, so it might be a long week of anxiety.

just wondering where you found the stats and admissions date for last year's transfer. I've tried doing an advanced search for "Harvard" (posts that are an year ago and older), the posts from a year ago and newer only start as early as 09.04 :(

here's the link to last year:

http://www.collegeconfidential.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?57277/68993

it seems that most found out on the 19th, so monday-thursday might be a bit anxiety ridden, because it could be different this year....le sigh. Although when people called, they were really honest (shock, horror!) about when they would be released, so you could try calling tomorrow or tuesday if you don't hear anything.

Annie

Although I have been accepted into Yale's Special Student Program (non-traditional aged undergrads), while I was on the phone with one of the executives from the admissions office last Wednesday (when they called me to congratulate me), I asked them if they were still very busy and he said that they were starting to mail all "regular" transfer decisions and he had hoped to have them all mailed by last Friday or this Monday (tomorrow). Now, that is what they told me, so please use the information at your own risk. I don't know anything else, so please don't bombard me with insults and put-downs :(

for yale? we're talking about harvard
