Has any been accepted after being deferred yet?

I received a letter requesting mid year grades and more ACT scores so I'm taking the ACTs again next weekend. I also sent in my first quarter grades because according to a guidance councilor at Pitt, the admissions team re evaluates each student after further academic info is provided. So i was just wondering if any received this letter, submitted more information, and was accepted after reconsideration? Just trying to gage how long after Pitt gets my ACTs will I receive a decision.

Weighted GPA: 3.86/5 - 2 APS
ACT: 29
Female applying for engineering program
wrote and essay, and submitted 3 letters of recommendation

I believe I was deferred due to my low Pre-Calc grade from Junior year, however I am now getting a 90 in Calc.
Also hoping to improve my ACT score to a 31

@qwerty
I am surprised that they differed you!!

I believe that you need to specifically email them after they get your stuff before they reevaluate you. I was deferred for engineering with a 3.68 W gpa (school doesn’t send UW but it was about a 3.5) and 1880 SAT if that helps you at all

There was a young lady who applied for nursing, Pitt indicated they wanted to see oct sAt scores and she has since been admitted

@tamtiger pitt’s engineering program is getting much more difficult to get into, so I am not too surprised! Just doing what I can to get accepted :)

@brianz87 have you emailed them asking to re evaluate? And when do you think I should ask them to re evaluate? After my dec act scores arrive? Which will be the end of December, or after my second quarter grades come out? Early February?

i’d do both qwerty, that way they know u are very interested.

Thanks @mommabear48 I think that’s a good idea!

I emailed them and they said they wouldn’t look at just 1st quarter grades. They want mid-year

@skiwoolf I was told by an admissions councilor that “Yes, it is possible that we would make a decision based off of your December ACTs and first quarter grades, and it is also possible that we would decide to wait for mid-year grades.” So I believe they could decide at any point.

Just wondering if anyone that received a letter requesting mid semester grades have heard anything yet. How long did it take to get a response after your grades were submitted?

As far as I know, no one who was asked for Mid year grades has heard back yet. Including me. I asked admissions and they claimed I should be “hearing from them shortly.” So I’m hoping to hear by the end of February!
