Has anyone been reject through the My Calpoly Portal?

is it through email? or do i need to sign in?

6 of my friends got rejected through the portal today

i got rejected too for electrical engineering. I do not know how this works. I had a friend last year that got in as an EE with a 1560 on the SAT and 3.6 GPA. Two AP classes (in which i tutored him in), and no EC. I just don't understand how their selection process works.

It sucks that I didn't get in, but can they just tell me why. I think I deserve more than a crappy sentence telling me I'm not admitted. I didn't get in and I don't know how to improve, because I really don't know what I lack so much.

Sundialing - I found out through my portal yesterday.. I didn't get an email.

I got rejected for mechanical engineering.
I had a 3.5 weighted gpa and a 2030 =/
I'm bummed because my cousin got in two years ago with much lower stats, SLO was my small inkling of hope after several rejections by UCs.
I was pretty ****ed about the one sentence denial of admission too.

Thanks for making me feel like a sheep Cal Poly SLO.

We are unfortunate in that we are in a "bubble" of applicants our age and Calpoly simply calculates an index and fills seats in each major by taking the top scores. We are just numbers. What worked last year may be below the cutoff this year.

You know folks, alot of the hype on getting into the best schools is exactly that. hype. My life is not ruined because I didn't get in. I'll go somewhere else and be fine, and so will you. Time to shake the dust of your shoes and move on.

Well I will not be attending so I will free up a spot.
Good Luck.
jesus

Yeah I agree lakeside.
I could care less about rankings or whatever.

I just wanted cal poly because it was by the beach. haha

I was rejected through the portal for kinesiology.
SAT- 1780 MATH 2- 650 US History- 600
Weighted gpa- 4.2
AP calculus, ap stats, ap us, ap lit, honors english, honors anatomy, ap bio, honors earth science, econ and gov at community college.

i was admitted to ucsb on the bright side.

I haven’t heard anything from Cal Poly yet. One of my friends got admitted, but she is not going there (what a waste!). San Francisco State University over Cal Poly SLO?!:( , but SFSU is a nice college though.

i got in! but not at SDSU????
Stats: 27 ACT (I retook it and got a 29 but i didn't send that score in) 3.25 GPA Hispanic and Journalism major

rejected
Civil Engineering major

3.5 GPA
1790 SAT
took Statistic,Ap Cal AB and BC

Sorry to the people who are not getting in. Remember that CP SLO is one of the schools that make you apply to a certain major and a LOT of the majors there are very competitive. Too many applicants = can't let everyone in.

Last year they said that the average gap (unweighted) of ALL accepted students was 3.7 !! So you have to realize the engineering and arch majors must be much higher.

Also -their classroom space is very limited. People don't realize that's one reason that they simply CAN'T admit more students. Not enough space FOR students to take classes and live. Once you get in - registering to get in the classes you want becomes an issue. The demand is very high for everything...

ksmcb.... you sure seem to know a lot about how things work there! i have been getting these incrediable video messages from SLO...I got one from the president and one from the dean

Cal Poly Simply The Best

Cal Poly Simply The Best

ksmcb- how much of an issue is getting the classes you want? does it impact on how much time it takes for one to graduate?

oh and the people who were rejected that i noe of found out through the portal
