Has anyone had an acceptance or rejection yet?

Previously, they wanted my 2nd quarter grades (which don’t come out until April), so I e-mailed them telling that… then they removed that from my checklist so everything looks “complete” but it’s still further review required. Kill me now. I think I’m going to give up on McGill anyways. It was a huge nightmare dealing with their admin.

the further review status does not change until they post a decision
chill ilikebananas
btw they posted my decision 2 days after they received my mid-year grades :D

Accepted to the faculty of science!
Here are my stats, although McGill probably didn’t take these into account for me (I’m a Canadian, so there wasn’t any need for standardized testing):
ACT: 34
ACT writing: 11
SAT subject tests: 770 on Biology and French
I’m in French Immersion and AP.

I’m wondering if they get back to Canadians later than internationals. It makes sense, because our deadlines are later. I submitted my updated grades on Thursday and got my admission notification Friday. As far as I know, I’m the only one out of all my friends who’s heard back.

ilikebananas, you’re right about the bureaucracy issues. I called them a few months ago to ask about the physiology/physics programme, and after being on hold for an hour (long distance), I got rude, curt replies from a lady who, honestly, seemed to know less about the programme than I did.
They’re reputed as a good school so they must think that they can get away with that kind of stuff. They have no need to recruit students, especially in Canada. There are dozens of students at my school who have applied to McGill, and I’m assuming that those figures hold true for most High Schools in Canada.
Nonethless, that phone call gave me a terrible impression of the school, and left me wondering if they would continue to be that difficult if I decided to attend. At university, the last thing you need is to encounter difficulty when trying to change/drop classes or adjust anything with the administration.

has anyone else been accepted to science? from canada or the US? i am from the US and no one i know who applied to science has received a decision.

I applied to science from Massachusetts and have ‘reviewed, decision pending’. My ACT is 33, 790 in SAT 2 bio, 5 in AP bio, 4 in AP US History, and unweighted GPA of 3.79. (Weighted 4.7). No word yet. Nervous.

ok good to know… perhaps they just haven’t gotten around to us yet

i have similar stats: 2230 SAT (740 CR 760 M) 33 ACT (35 R 35 M 11 E) 3.9UW/4.45W GPA. i guess we just wait. good luck to you!

It means that they want to see your grades at the end of the year, thus “pending” final results.

I think their admissions office is extremely disorganized.
My school sent my grades on February 2nd, along with 5 or 6 other reports from other applications from my school. I checked regularly as Minerva indicates, and while my friends’ accounts stated that Mcgill had received their grades, mine said they still hadn’t gotten mine.

A few days ago I got an EXTREMELY alarming email from the admissions office letting me know that they would cancel my application if they didn’t receive my midyear grades soon. I was FURIOUS because it must’ve gotten there, as all the grades from my school were sent together in 1 package. I proceeded to faxing my grades over the next day and that was hell, as I kept calling them to see if they received them and no one picked up…

They finally updated my minerva account but i’m still “further review required.” Apparently i’m supposed to find out in 4-10 days. I’m glad my grades got there, but considering this is my favorite school, I was stressed out beyond belief.

I’m from the US (but I’m a Canadian citizen) and I got into faculty of science and faculty of engineering. My stats are similar to ciaobella’s and LacrossePlayer’s, so I would think that they’re just getting through the paperwork.

Accepted to the Faculty of Arts
does anyone know anything about inter-faculty transfer?
is it hard?
my dream faculty is Dedautels and actually i wanna transfer

Daughter is a US student applying to the Fac. of Science and has been reviewed- decision pending for several weeks. 33-34 ACT. 3.72 unweighted.

Laffter-- I am the same. US student, 33 ACT, 3.79 GPA (unweighted), applied to science. Reviewed decision pending for two weeks now. Also had 790 bio SAT2.

Admitting pending final results to both the Bachelor of Arts and Sciences program and the Faculty of Arts. I’m an American with dual citizenship. 3.8x GPA (not sure), 2340 SAT.

Hi,
This is going to sound like the most idiotic post of all time, but I’m a little confused. I applied to computer science, which is in the Faculty of Science. I see people talking about being accepted to the Faculty of Arts and Science, and other saying that they are accepted into the BOTH the Faculty of Science and Arts & Sciences. Are these separate things? I thought they were the same. Is this just a semantic thing or are they different “acceptances”.
LP

Not idiotic at all. There is the:
-Faculty of Arts
-Faculty of Science
-Interfaculty arts and science program with requires a double major, one in arts, one in Science and leads to a single Bachelor of Arts and Science degree.

On the appication, you can apply to two programs so an applicant may be admitted to both Arts and Interfaculty or admitted to one choice and demied to the other etc.

A bit confusing.

ADMITTED (arts)

Still waiting on science!

admitted to science waiting for arts!!!
