I’m having the SAME exact problem too!!! MUST be a system error.

I was able to get partially in today with ny friends ID but couldn’t get all the way through without my 9 digit ID. Now I can’t get through the first page.

I think the system must be overloaded.

The system is also taking forever tonight.

I tried to login, and I tried to use both my regular User ID and the 9 digit number and it still says it’s wrong. I’m going to wait until midnight to see if the system is just being overused.

ok so I logged in… :(

Total Aid:
$16,000 - $5500 in loans

EFC:
$0

School Cost:
$35,952

Gap:
19,952

It seems like the only way I’m going to avoid going to my community college is by getting into Cornell University. I did apply for a few scholarships, but even so, I don’t expect to win all of them. UMich gave me a gap of 21,000, Syracuse gave me a gap of 10,000. And Forget the rest of my schools, it doesn’t even matter… :(

bye penn state

We tried using the User ID and password that S set up himself a while ago, that worked for the MYPENN site but they don’t work for the finaid site. Neither did the nine digit PSU ID rec’d in the letter. Which ones are the correct ones to use?

Sorry but some of the people on this board have really unrealistic views about paying for college.

You ARE going to go into debt. There is almost no way to avoid it.

Apply for some local scholarships, win some lose some, hit up your family for $$, work (gasp), and deal with it.

DrMAN a gap of 10 grand a year is nothing to fret over my god, i know people who are going to graduate from PSU with almost 100 grand in debt. Its life.

his estimated family contribution is 0$…

Very few schools guarantee that they will meet required need; those that do are mostly (if not all) private. Also, as a state school supported by state tax dollars, out of state students can expect to receive less money.

I only got 12,000 for the the entire year and the tution is a little over 35,000. I’m out of state but what sucks is that I graduated from high school in PA. Now my parents live in Jersey. I’m a transfer student and I got more money from Pace University which is a private institution. PSU did not give me enough aid so more than likely it’s not a my list of where I’m gonna go anymore.

ugh. i only got $5500 in loans. i wrote them an email & begged them to give me more money. now it’s time to sit & wait.
