@18yrcollegemin-congrats to your son! My son is a senior in Viterbi this year, although not CS/Games, but has many friends who are…absolutely the best school for that major! Now we are just waiting to hear about my daughter!!

Our son’s status changed over the weekend, then today changed back to the old message. He received the thick package in today’s mail.

Yay! Great news. I am going to remain positive for my daughter then!!

“great news” except for everyone who didn’t receive the status update…

Cavmom - good luck to your daughter! I’ve been following your posts and I wish her well. We toured many schools over the last year, some that gave large NMF packages, others that had Games programs. USC was by far the school that son was most excited about. But, it scares me tremendously to have him go so far from home!

I know how you feel. My daughter is also looking at schools on the east coast. That is why this is also so important (to me)…it is the only west coast school she applied to!!

It’s funny because I know the feeling of circling the packet, waiting for him to get home! I did that 4 years ago!! However, it was in March, not January.

did any1 from Illinois get a package?

Yeah or missouri!

Still no mail. Funny, when I went to the store to grab something to eat, I saw the mailman stuffing mails few blocks away from our mailbox. SO I turned around and waited for him. After about 5 minutes, I saw him coming. Then he turned left at the intersection before our house. I guess today he decided to do the other streets first. So I went and bought lunch. Came home. Checked the mailbox. Nothing. Where are you mailman?

IF all of the midwest didn’t get anything that is good. Did anyone from the midwest get a package?

Just received the big acceptance packet in the mail down in South Florida. I had the status change as mentioned in the original post, yet the status was quickly removed this morning I believe.

To everyone still waiting, I wish you the best of luck. And I personally do believe that if your status was changed, you have a great chance of being accepted as a scholarship finalist!

Did anyone in NYC get the package?

Btw you guys can check how long the mail is supposed to take here : <a href=“Priority Mail Delivery Map | USPS”>https://www.usps.com/priority-mail/map/
USC’s zip is 90089.

Unfortunately, it’s looking quite grim for me :(

Honestly, the admissions counselor who said the status change didn’t mean anything doesn’t seem to be telling the whole truth based on the fact that everyone who received a pkg also had the status change… fishy indeed. Nonetheless it’s probably what they were told to say. But why not just spill the beans and fess up to the snafu.

^ They may honestly have had no idea about what happened this weekend.

Going to a specific time on the portal for information or an email blast would take care of this yearly mess.

S received the big acceptance packet in the mail down in AZ. S had the status change and the status was quickly removed this morning I believe… Wishing all the others tons of good luck!!

My S applied to USC, but says he didn’t get any email providing how to get into their portal. How did everyone get their login information? If you got an email, would you mind providing a good word to search on to find the email? We’ve tried USC and Southern, but only found an email with financial aid information. My S does not check his email very regularly. Thanks!

Nothing in Iowa, I guess the dream is dying, the only question left is do I withdraw my application in 10 days when I get the rejection email?

JCCsMom, best is you can call up USC they are very helpful in providing login info.

@yoskis Like the vast majority of us, you won’t know your decision until March.
