has anyone taken the placement test yet?

how is it? is it like the sample questions? because i looked at the sample questions and forgot how to do like all the math problems on it because i am taking ap stat which like isnt even real math.

Yeah, what’s the story with the placement exam? Is it easy for someone who isn’t mathematically inclined? (i.e. I got through college algebra with a B and now I just need a statistics course to be finished with the math portion of my major). Or will I be stuck in a remedial course for failing the placement test?

my D found it deceptively easy, it placed her into Calc 3. THAT was a huge mistake it was VERY stressful course for her, and math is her forte, currently has an A average in Engineering/Math courses. She took Calc AB in HS got a 4, the placement exam was too easy, and if she had known she would have NEVER gone directly into Calc 3. So be forwarned if it places you into a higher level than you expect, make sure you feel you have the foundation.

the placement test is basically algebra 2 and pre-calculus concepts. It should be easy for anyone who successfully completed those courses and/or more.

I took it this year and got a perfect score (not trying to brag, just trying to show its simplicity). However, don’t take it lightly because it can force you into remedial courses that you don’t want to have to deal with.

i looked at the practice problems, and i completed algebra 2 and precalc with A’s and B’s…by my sophomore year. i took AP calc and then AP stat, but i know i’m going to have a hard time remembering what i learned 2 years ago on this test. it can’t be accurate.
