@ddotjon, some transfer already get accept in mid march.

My application was completed in early February, people who had their applications complete in mid-February are getting decisions. This leads me to believe I’ve been rejected, but I’ll still remain hopeful. It’d be a shame to have a near 4.0 and not get into the school you want knowing you worked extremely hard and did everything possible.

@tgenovajr, if they reject you, then it will be their mistake…

I would think the major you applied for may have an impact on the timing of the decision? Good luck!

@NickOGY thank you I appreciate that! @ddotjon I’m not 100% sure, I’m guessing it does. My main problem is I haven’t taken calc based physics yet (my school only requires algebra based). So I will be taking calc based physics over the summer at Nassau Community College. I had this note attached to my application, hopefully it is enough.

Is your son still waiting for a decision as well? @ddotjon

Yes. Still waiting.

Regarding majors, you can still be accepted into the university but not for the particular major you applied for. They mention this on their website. For some “restricted majors” like engineering and nursing, you may be admitted into the university but not directly into your specific program.

I submitted my application some time in December but did not send all required application materials including transcripts until mid January. Also, I was a bit late submitting FAFSA. I hope that doesn’t mess up my chances.

Well I spoke with admissions and they said since I have so many credits (55) they want me to declare a major when transferring.

Deadline was March 1st, you definitely didn’t hurt your chances.

I submitted mien sometime mid March. According to the website, that might only mean that i get my financial aid package a bit later. Specifically, it says that priority deadline is March 1st but says nothing about submitting the financial aid a bit after that. I’m really worried now.

Are you worried about being accepted or receiving financial aid?

I’m worried about being accepted. My complete application and all application materials was sent in by Mid-January and the admissions office confirmed to me that they have everything they need. I’m worried that people who submitted applications Mid-Feb are already getting their application letters while I haven’t.

We’re in the same boat, all we can do is play the waiting game.

@j814wong @tgenovajr good luck to both of u, i still need to wait for the spring transcript. not sure at that time their still have seat for me…

@NickOGY thanks, if there’s not, try next semester. I know they like taking students who have at least 24 credits.

@tgenovajr , whatever the decision i get, i will reapply until get in to sbu, and hope i will see you guys on campus one day.

Good luck to us all. What are you majors?

I’m doing Mechanical Engineering.

im doing business management …
