I just received an email from UC Davis telling me that I got accepted… except I read these threads and I see so many more talented and qualified and smarter people get rejected with better grades and bigger achievements
Could they have mistakenly sent me an acceptance they meant to send someone else?
Honestly my grades were so terrible I was just aiming for UC Riverside or Merced
I only applied here because I didn’t need to write another application and because, why not lol
Am I to expect some sort of apology letter in the near future? I don’t really want to be let down haha
Congratulations!!! No this is not a mistake. They would have not accepted you if they felt you could not bring something special to the campus.
UC admissions is more than just stats, that is why they look at the whole applicant and they determine if you are a good fit for the school.
What major were accepted? Also an FYI, College Confidential posters tend to be skewed toward the high performing so it is hard to get a real perspective of the type of students that are accepted to the UC’s by just looking at these decision threads.
Congratulations! My daughter is a 3rd year bio major and she absolutely loves it there! It’s a small town feel for such a big college. I’ll miss it when she graduates.
